Recorded in May 1975, ‘Best of Two Worlds’ sees Getz reunited with Joao Gilberto ten years after their hugely successful 60’s Bossa Nova collaborations. Joan Gilberto provides the Portuguese vocals and his then wife Heloisa Buarque de Hollande supplies the English ones. ‘Best Of Two Worlds’ is fine Bossa. The album oozes class and quality throughout with Getz in soulful and mellow mood. Highlights include the classic ‘Aguas de Marco’, the jazzy ‘Falsa Bahiana’, ‘Double Rainbow’ and the gorgeous ‘E Preciso Perdoar’. The percussion work from Airto among others is literally divine. Five-star album.
