‘Sunlight’ from 1978 and ‘Feets Don’t Fail Me Now’ from 1979 document Hancock’s first fusion of Disco with Jazz Funk and also are amongst the first recordings to use a vocoder. Highlights include the hit ‘I Thought It Was You’ and from ’79 ‘You Bet Your Love’ and ‘Tell Everybody’. ‘No Means Yes’ is closer to Herbie’s Headhunters material. Also worthy of note are the mellow ‘Sunlight’ and the funky ‘Knee Deep’.
