Angie Stone is established as one of the premier Soul singers of her generation. After her first two killer albums her output has been of variable quality until she came back to form with ‘Rich Girl’ in 2012. Now signed to Shanachie, Angie has made another strong album ‘Dream’. ‘Bad Habits’ is a good catchy mid tempo stepper, ‘Dollar Bill’ an up tempo R&B/Soul number, and there are a couple of retro 60’s soul style up tempo songs the best of which is ‘’Didn’t Break Me’. The mid tempo and ballads work best. ‘Think It Over’ is the killer track that has a 70’s Soul style reminiscent of Womack’s ‘That’s the way I feel about cha’, it is her best track in many years. ‘Magnet’ is a lovely ballad, ‘Forget about me’ and the duet with Dave Hollister ‘Begin Again’ are dead slow beat ballads. Good album
