Southern soul-bluesman Wilie Clayton returns with his first album in six years and fuses old school vocals with modern day southern soul on an album mainly made up of mid tempo grooves. Standouts include the sultry ‘All Of My Loving’, the bluesy swayer ‘Sweet Sweet’ with some good, full instrumentation. A lot of the tracks have a modern R&B feel in tempo but with a definite old school sensibility, carried by Willie’s timeless voice which at times comes close to Al Green. ‘Easy To Love’, ‘I’m So Blue’ and ‘Missing You’ have that Al Green vibe while ‘Girl I Love You’ and ‘Nothing But The Blues’ are strong dancers. This is actually a really, really good album by this Chicago veteran!
