Italian saxophonist Max Ionata’s new album is a retro Hammond organ trio date. The album kicks off with the swinging ‘At Vics’ – a tribute to Victor Feldman. Mainly original compositions, ‘Rewind’ is bright and breezy with tracks like ‘Bob’s Mood’ and ‘Sunflower’ being tight yet upbeat grooves. Funkier still is the gritty ‘Amsterdam After Dark’. Nine tunes of quality Hammond Jazz.
