Superb debut album from Detroit husband and wife duo Collective Peace, Grammy nominated saxophonist LaDarrell ‘Saxappeal’ Johnson and his singer-songwriter wife LaKeisha ‘Ideeyah’ Johnson. They are joined by many of Detroit artists on this lovely album that spans Soul and Jazz. ‘Let The Music play’ is a moody atmospheric mid tempo soul-jazz song. ‘Where have you been is another nice laid back female vocal led cut. ‘Pillow Talk’ is another quiet track featuring Dwele. Amp Fiddler fronts the more energetic ‘Soul Bounce’. ‘Love is waiting’ is an upper mid tempo song featuring Zo ! There are some really nice sax led instrumentals including ‘Sun Chaser’ and ‘track IV’. This set is well worth checking out to get some Collective Peace.
