It’s a good week for Vinyl releases, with the Cool Million album now in on a limited Double Album set that looks really nice. Darrell Banks Classic 60’s soul album ‘Is Here’ which includes his great ‘Open the door to your heart’ gets a welcome and lovingly made reissue on 180gm vinyl mastered from the original analogue tapes. There are some good 45’s, Sam Dees ‘superb Marvin-esq ‘Gimme a little action’ and The Avons modern soul ‘When the boy that you love’ being the cream of the bunch.
There are some good CD reissues and comps with Sam records anthology, the Ace comps, Fantastic Four lost Motown album, and the trio of Muscles Shoals Horns albums are all well worth investigating.
We now have back in stock the beautiful first Lindsey Webster CD, and three of last years best albums Carmen Lundy’s incredible ‘Soul to Soul; the raw funky soul of Gedeon Luke and the People and amazing Jazzy Afrobeat of Samuel Jon Samuelson, If you missed these catch them now as we may not receive any more after this batch has sold.
Pre-orders now taken for three great new albums due next week. There is the excellent Expansion records new comp Soul Shine on Cd and LP , Lindsey Webster superb sophisticated soul new album ‘You Change’ and Snarky Puppy keyboardist Shaun Martin incredible ‘7 Summers’, all likely to be amongst the best albums of 2015.
We are delighted that Diane Shaw will be our special guest for an in store signing on Saturday 1st August from1pm. Diane’s ‘Love Life and Strings’ album is one of the best retro soul albums with amazing production. The CD is available now and the Lp is on pre-order expected around 17th July. I hope that you can join us on the day to meet the lady herself.

Atlanta artist and producer Khari Cabral Simmons dropped by the store last Saturday whilst he was in town, you can see the picture here. He is working on many new projects including an album with Cecilia Stalin and talked of a possible Atlanta artist tour in the future.
