HOT CHOCOLATE –HOT CHOCOLATE CD £12.95
This raw funk and soul album from 1971 was made by Lou Ragland's band in Cleveland Ohio and features his soulful vocals on the uptempo 'Ain't That A Groove'. 'So Damn Funky', 'Messing With Sly' and 'What You Want To Do' are Meters style stripped down funky instrumentals. 'What Should I Do' is a beautiful ballad popular on the rare soul scene. The original album is extremely rare and sells of around £500.

Strong funk/Soul album form BRC in 1974. inc the 2-step/modern soul classic title track, the funk of 'Get Satisfied', 'Give It Up' 'Blood Donors Needed' and 'Loose Hips' and some nice sweet soul ballads 'Try Try Try' and 'Takin Love and Makin love'. Good album limited stock.

GONZALEZ – GONZALEZ CD £12.95
In demand funky and jazzy 1974 album from an extremely tight British group who could really play. 'Rissoled' is an AWB style funky instrumental, the gritty 'No Way' and 'Underground Railroad' feature the vocals of George Chandler. The latin tinged funky jazz instrumentals 'Clapham South' and 'Saoco/Funky Frith Street' really groove along and the modern soul floater 'Crystal Blue Persuasion provides a nice contrast.

GREG PERRY ONE FOR THE ROAD CD £12.95 LP £12.95
1975 Album from producer Greg Perry incl the 2-step classic 'Variety Is The Spice Of life' , the modern soul 'Come On Down' and the epic atmospheric ballad 'Will She Meet The Train In The Rain'. Also check the orchestrated funky inst 'Love Is Magic' (ala Strange Games and things), the mid tempo title track and the other ballads on his fine overlooked album.

JOHNNY HAMMOND GAMBLERS LIFE CD £12.95
Great Mizell Bros produced CTI/Salvation album from 1974 (pre- Gears) . Johnny's electric keyboards combine with the Mizell sound and shine on the up-tempo title track, 'Rhodesian Thoroughfare', 'Star borne' 'Back To The Projects' and 'Yesterday Was Cool' and the mid tempo 'Virgo Lady' and 'This Years Dream'. CD bonus tracks 'Rock Steady' 'Higher Ground' and the great 'Who Is Sylvia' from earlier albums. One of the best Mizell produced albums a classic.

Classic Jazz Funk album from 1981 from keyboardist Lesette includes the jazz funk anthem 'Caveman Boogie' 7 ½ mins of handclapping dance floor magic. Also incl 'Saturday Nite Groovin' another dancer that allows her keyboard playing more space, the breezy 'Travelling song' , the vocal stepper 'No Matter What You Do' and CD bonus track 'Look Into Tomorrow' her rare mid tempo rare groove 12"from 1987.

Great rare album made in Europe by US servicemen in 1974. Inc the modern/northern dancer 'You Keep Coming Back', modern mid tempo 'Puppet On A Chain', then ice mid tempo 'My Little Someone' and some good ballads. On the Funk side there's the great mid tempo funky break 'Windy C', and brassy funk tracks 'Holes In My Shoes' and 'No More City No More Country'. Excellent varied album

WILLIE BOBO – HELL OF AN ACT TO FOLLOW/BOBO CD £12.95
Percussionist Willie's two great jazz funk albums from 1978 and '79 together on one CD. 'Hell of an Act ' was produced by Wayne Henderson and features a great line up incl Bobby Lyle, Ernie Watts etc. it includes his big jazz funk club hit and possibly definitive version of Ronnie Laws 'Always There' both in album and 12” remix versions. Also there's 'Keep That Same Old Feeling' the uptempo 'Sixty-Two Fifty' and a good vocal version of 'Dindi'. 'Bobo' is a more vocal album featuring Errol Knowles on the great 2-stepper 'Comin Over Me' and uptempo dancer 'Reason For Livin' with Willie more to the fore on 'Palos'.
