From 1973, at this time Roy could do no wrong. From ’72 to ’80 just about every album was either ‘on it’ or had a classic or several on it. Grooves like the compulsive ‘Brother Louie’ and the instrumental belter ‘Des Nudes Soul’ are funky and Fusion of the highest quality. The uptempo take on ‘Love From The Sun’ features Dee Dee Bridgewater on vocals. ‘Virgo Red’ and the 2 Step paced ‘Giving Love’ (Leroy Hutson penned/Voices of East Harlem track) add variety to an ultra strong Roy Ayers album.
