Jill Scott from the Vault is musically more in line with her first two albums. The 13 unreleased tracks show Jill at her best lyrically, vocally and musically and show why she has become recognised as one of the leading female soul artists of the Millenium so far. The upbeat ‘I Don’t know’ and ‘Love To Love’ hit home hard. The semi-funky groove ‘The Light’, and the mid tempo with a beat ‘Running Away’ are also highlights. But it is the laid back mid tempo tracks like ‘’Wake Up baby’ and ‘ I’m Prettier’ that reveal the true originality of Jill Scott. There’s also a good cover of ‘Lovely Day’ From the Vault will be a contender for album of the year.
