Detroit’s Fantastic Four left Motown’s main city rivals Ric-Tic Records in the hope the the next step on the ladder of success would come with the legendary Motor City logo. Sadly the album (and many other sides they recorded) for Berry Gordy’s label failed to see the light of day. This collection presents that previously ‘lost’ long player alongside a raft of other unreleased cuts from the groups’ time with Motown as well as the tracks that were released as 45s. Standouts include the Ruffin sounding ‘Take Him Back If It Makes You Happy’, the great beat-ballad ‘On The Brighter Side Of A Blue World’, ‘I’m Gonna Carry On’, ‘I’m Still A Struggling Man’ among the 25 tracks here. Great stuff.
