Italian jazz group Papik came to our attention with one of the best jazz albums of 2010 ‘Rhythm Of life’. Their new album ‘Music Inside’ again features the great easy vocals of Alan Scaffardi on the jazz dancers ‘On The Move’ and ‘Open Eyes’ as well as the shuffling ‘This happiness’ and ‘You Must Have Come From Heaven’. Also check the brassy uptempo ‘The Puzzle Of life’ and ‘Rebirth’ ft Ely Bruna, ‘Bossa 60’ and the mellower ‘Family Affair’ ft Wendy Lewis. Best Italian Jazz album for a while

I never thought I’d find a band that creates exactly my type of music. As a 64-year-old” done it and heard it all” type, I’ve been charmed by nu- jazz, soul, cool-electro, and Brasilectro,( I live near Rio de Janeiro). Lately though, the lack of a perfect blend of these genres had led me to hide away with Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Art Farmer albums, believing that the happy, jazzy, soulful, optimistic sounds of early Incognito were a distant memory.

Now Papik has come along with two stunning albums that surpass anything before. The genre is subtly unique. Rhythm of Life, and now Music Inside are instant, light, happy jazz albums, whose bounce and virtuoso, both vocal and instrumental, have put a new spring in my step. Thank you Papik for your sunny brilliance !

I totally agree with Kevin Prior (although I am a bit younger) 🙂

    Papik has totally got it!
