Two killer Afro Cuban Jazz albums recorded in New York in the late 50’s on one CD. ‘Kenya’ from 1957 features a great band including Cannonball Adderley on Sax contains 10 Brassy percussive tracks written for the album by A K Salim, Rene Hernadez and Mario Bauza including ‘Cannonology’, plus a good version of ‘Tin Tin Deo’. ‘With Flute To Boot’ from 1958 features Herbie Mann on Flute, especially good on ‘Afro-Jazziac’ and ‘African Flute’. These album still sound good, but were cutting edge when recorded nearly 60 years ago.
