Superb focus on a small but strong selection of releases from the vast stable of labels operated or distributed by the legendary Henry Stone. There’s a good balance of super rare, classic and widely known collector’s tunes here that serves to demonstrate the breadth of talent that gravitated towards the Miami music mogul. Big rarities like Formula 1’s super funky ‘Walking With My Eyes Closed’ and the sublime ‘I Want To Be Loved’ by Stevens and Foster are included as well as the anthemic ‘Silence That You Keep’ from Milton Wright, Little Beaver’s in-demand socio-concious ‘Concrete Jungle’, tough Deep Funk from Jimmy Bo Horne (‘Hey There Jim’) and the Oceanliners’ ‘Hot Pants’, along with some great soul efforts from Robert Moore (‘Tears Of The World’) and the increasingly sought after ‘There Must Be Something’ by Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
