Confunkshun’s 1983 ‘Fever’ and 1985 release ‘Electric Lady’ paired on one CD are mainly uptempo, good time club soul sets very of their time without being overly commercial. Deodato produced ‘Fever’ and the arrangements and grooves are tight, highlights being ‘Thinking About You Baby’, ‘Don’t Let
Your Love Grow Cold’, ‘Lovin’ Fever’ and ‘Hard Lovin’.’Electric Lady’ from a few years later shows a harder sound with tougher beats and more programming but it has some good moments, particularly the mid tempo ‘I’m Leaving Baby’ and the boogie of ‘Don’t Go (I Don’t Want You Back’)
