Snowboy’s ‘On The Good Foot’ compilation is the perfect introduction to the club night of the same name that he runs at the iconic Madame JoJos in London: a blend of classic and rare 60s soul, R&B, funk and latin. Little Eva’s stomping ‘Get Ready’ kicks things off well, The Dynamics’ early soul ‘Misery’ is a class, haunting slice of moody dancefloor action while Luther Ingram’s ‘Don’t You Weep’ is another brooding early soul side. The Barrino Brothers deliver a gorgeous slab of funky crossover, Hank Marr’s ‘Watusi Roll’ is a sax ‘n Hammond delight while Mark Murphy’s ‘Why Don’t You do Right’ and Willis Jackson’s ‘Nuther’n Like Thuther’n’ are latin goodies. Great comp reflecting a good club night.
