The Muscle Shoals Sound Studios located in Alabama was the birth place of much great Southern soul. The horn section provided a textual background for much of the studio’s output. They recorded 3 albums between 1976 and 1983. ‘Born To Get Down’ dates from 1976 and is a joyful Disco Funk outing with cuts like ‘Hustle To The Music’, ‘Born To Get Down’,‘Open Up Your Heart’, and the Eddy Grant penned ‘Break Down’ illustrative of the set. The Disco side surfaces on the single ‘Bump De Bump Yo Boodie’. ‘Where I’m Coming From’ has a heavier feel with its potent message.
