Follow up to 2015’s 1968: Soul Power set once again sees UK favourite Rasheed Ali journey back to the present past on this 18 track odyssey. The energetic dancer ‘Right On Right On’ has touches of Sly Stone, ‘Gonna Be A Fire’ has a socio-political edge in the lyrics while the groove is irresistible, ‘Just Wanna Be Happy’ also has a ‘Family Affair’ feel to it in places. ‘Take It Easy’ is another salutary tale about growing up to fast set to a strong groove, ‘Walking And Talking’ is a good, busy dancer that nods to a slew of sources, ‘Alone Tonight’ is probably the highlight of the set – punchy groove and a good tempo for club plays while ‘It’s Complicated’ feels more late 80’s than 60’s but without the harsh programming of the former. Another set the please Rasheed’s fans.
