Recommended releases of the week 19th September 2014

New Releases

Paul Hardcastle has gone back to the Boogie groove style of his early 80’s recording with his new set ‘Movin and Groovin’ which is also available on Vinyl. Kim Waters remains in his usual Smooth Jazz/Soul style with one of his best in a while ‘Silver Soul’. To coincide with his in store on Saturday we have some copies of Big Brooklyn Red’s long out of print Foreword’ CD back in stock.

The ‘hidden’ genius of Carlos Garnett

The third in the series of Carlos Garnett’s classic Muse albums ‘Let This Melody Ring On’ has now arrived. It includes some wicked funky jazz and jazz dance tracks . Check out our Video mix here featuring some great tracks from this and the other two albums Black Love and Journey to Enlightenment that we have released so far on CD.

Reissues

Two of Edwin Starr’s great Motown albums are now out on CD with many many bonus tracks.Soul Master includes all his Ric Tic material, and Involved has many of his early to mid 70’s single sides added.

New Vinyl

For vinyl collectors don’t miss the very limited Marvin Gaye/Donald Byrd Mizell produced 12″ and equally scarse South African Jazz album from the Jazz Epistles.
