Recommended releases of the week – 24th July 2015

There are some really good albums and 45’s this week. Jill Scott makes a triumphant return to form with ‘Woman’ her best in a few years, combining her unique sound with some old school influenced tracks, check the video on the albums page. The marvellous Diane Shaw album is now available on Vinyl although don’t sleep on this as there are only 250 copies pressed, so I expect us to sell out quite quickly. All pre-orders have now been shipped.

Philadelphia singer songwriter Aaron Parnell Brown serves up acoustic soul with a different twist on ‘Tin Man’, and British Funk band Speedometer team up with singer James Junior to gives a really good funky soul album. There are good smooth jazz sets from Bob Baldwin and Randy Scott.

The Ola ‘Soul Town (Nigel Lowis and Colin Watson mixes) limited edition 45 is now in stock and selling fast, so please grab your copy of this great track now before they all go. The Samuel D Saunders 45 is coming back in shortly, we sold out of the first batch in just over a day, if you missed out last time please pre-order this now here to ensure you are allocated a copy.

The ultra rare Formula 1 track walking with my eyes closed is the latest Athens of the north 45 in stock now. There are also a couple of Vinyl LP comps from Outta Sight.
