Recommended releases – 31st July 2015

There are some interesting releases this week Lianne La Havas impressed on Jools Holland show a couple of months ago and her album has some nice tracks, Soul with a new twist. Quantic has made a lovely instrumental Jazz album recorded live in the studio with a great band it has a classic 60’s feel , the Hardbacked Vinyl cover  is a work of art and very limited.

Samuel D Sanders 45 is now back in stock in limited quantities, so if you missed out before grab a copy now before they go completely. Joss Stone returns with a reggae album, and there are some classic reggae reissues and comps including one of the best dub albums ever ‘Pick a Dub’.
The Soul reissue CDs are best for some time with solid albums from Ashford and Simpson, a lesser known Johnnie Taylor gem and a long overdue double CD best of the Crown Heights Affair, plus a superb double CD featuring the best of two Soulmen who have recently passed on Percy sledge and Ben E king.
