New Releases
There are some really good new releases and reissues this week. At long last Dawn Pemberton ‘s Say something album has arrived on vinyl, its a great album so grab a copy while you can. Schema records have two very strong Italian Jazz albums from Yoyce Elaine Yuille – check her version of Penny Goodwin’s classic ‘Too soon your old’ and Alessandro Scala. Greg Hestor and friends have a nice tribute to James Brown album.Shelia Ford has a soulful house album and there are good Jazz sets from Frank Catalano and Sax Pack.
New Vinyl
Vinyl reissues include a super high definition version of Herbie Hancock Maiden Voyage on music matters and a great R&B/early soul compilation on Outta sight.
45s
Some great 45’s this week a new tracks from Jay W McGee mixed by Cool Million, Cherry B mixed by Andy Lewis and loads of great reissues including an unissued Chicago side from Dynamic Sounds orchestra on Soul Junction.
Record Store Day Lookback
A big thanks to everyone who A big thanks to everybody who came to Soul Brother Records on record store day on Saturday, what an amazing day it was, certainly a birthday i will never forget. You can see pictures of the event here. A special thanks to our guest Cecilia Stalin who was signing copies of her rsd ep 12″ which we still have a few available. Cecilia also signed a few CD’as for us which are available now Story of love EP and Step like a giant. What a great artist she is and a really nice lady.
George Clinton Box
The Mothership has now landed, the George Clinton box set which didn’t make it for RSD is now in store and like all RSD titles is only available to shop customers until Saturday.
We’ve taken off all sold out RSD titles from the site but a few of these may come back in. All remaining RSD stock will be offered on our site on Saturday morning at 10am and over the phone at the same time. We hope to have enough stock of most of the Soul, Jazz and Reggae titles for all our mail order customers on the day, especially on our own 4 releases which have been selling very well and have now sold out at distribution, so please grab these while you can: good luck in the morning. The Rebirth in store! Friday 8th May
The next in store is on Friday 8th May when The Rebirth will be her signing copies of their new album Being thru the eyes of a child and their classic This Journey’s In.
