New releases
The flow of great new releases continues with new albums from Mario Biondi, the much anticipated Nia neo-soul album, plus a couple of great new southern soul sets from Tad Robinson and Billy Price Otis Clay. There is also an amazing funky jazz set from Naughty Professor on Ropeadope , shades of Snarky Puppy meets the Meters. May has been a fabulous month for new Soul and Jazz releases with essential albums from Saun and Starr, Joyce Elaine Yuille, Diane Shaw, Conya Doss, Cool Million Ty Causey and many more.
Pre-orders
There are some good albums to look foward to in June. We are now taking pre-orders for the amazing debut album from Tahirah Memory ft Jarrod Lawson which will be available exclusively from Soul Brother on 1st June, a month ahead of its general release. Also pre-order for early June new sets from Maysa and Jessy J.
Reissues and Vinyl
Soul Jazz records incredible Latin Jazz compilation Nu Yorica is given a 20 year anniverary expanded 2CD and 2 x Double LP edition. There are a couple of Blue Thumb label Jazz reissues and three classic reggae album sets.
On Vinyl there is a great edition of Maceo classic funk album ‘Us’ with a poster, and four great Blue Note albums including lee Morgan’s amazing ‘Search for a new land’ .
There are 4 great 45’s this week. Weldon Irvine essential ‘We Gettin Down’ out on 45 for the first time, a great underground GQ track, plus 2 monster tracks from Jeanie Tracy including the killer in demand modern soul ‘making new friends’. Again May has been an incredible month for 45’s.
Record store day remainders
Stocks of Record Store day titles are moving out fast, but we still have most of the Soul and Jazz RSD titles in stock but many will run out soon, get them while you can Check the list here.
