Recommended new releases – 13th February 2015

Multi instrumentalist and producer Nick Van Gelder teams up with UK vocalist and songwriter Suelene Fleming to take us to  ‘Loveland’ perfect timing for Valentines Day, one of the best groove oriented Soul albums we have heard for a while. ***You can meet Nick and Suelene at Soul Brother records store on Saturday 28th February 1pm when they will be signing copies of the CD***
Also check good new albums from Meeco featuring Yahzarah and Jean Baylor amongst others, and from Brazilian legend Joyce Moreno.

There are some great re-issues this week from Idris Muhammad whose ‘Turn this Mutha Out’ is an all time Jazz-Funk classic, the last of the 5 Carlos Garnett albums ‘New Love’ , both on our Soul Brother label, and Thelma Houston. The third volume of Soul on the Realside and R&B And Soul classics vol  2 are good compilations featuring two very different eras of Soul music.

Portia Monique has a great 12″ single on real People music featuring the two best tracks from her album, ‘Grace and ‘Cloud 1X’.

Pre-order for next week a superb album from Vick Lavender arriving Monday which is in the style of Josh Milan, the new Soulpersona and Brian Simpson CD’s and for later in the month new sets from Tristan and Kenya. For vinyl collectors the Jarrod Lawson at the BBC limited edition Vinyl LP and Neo ‘Your Smile’ 45 are available to pre-order.
