Recommended new releases – 10th April 2015

Will Downing has produced another strong album of mid tempo tracks, Kenny Lattimore makes a welcome return. Jeff Bradshaw has made amazing album recorded live with numerous vocalists in the style of the Snarky Puppy Family Dinner album. Check out Kim Burrell who is incredible on ‘Love’. Lindsey Webster is a new name to us but has made a really nice Soul album. David Sanborn reunites with Marcus Miller to make his best album for some time.

There are some good reissues and comps from classic artists including Main Ingredient, Jackie Wilson and Garnet Mimms plus some good compilations check out Soul Emissaries and Masterpiece vol 19. There are some good reissue 45’s including the amazing Alice Clark double A sider.

Jarrod Lawson will be in Soul Brother Records store this Sunday 12th April between 12.30 and 2pm signing copies of his brilliant At the BBC LP and Jarrod Lawson CD.

We have now finalised our albums of the month section for April, there are a lot of releases for you to check out here.

Record Store day is next Saturday 18th April and we will be open from 8am. We are expecting around 60-70 Soul, Jazz, Reggae and Blues exclusive Limited edition Vinyl records on the day including four great releases on our own label which you can check out here. A full list of what has arrived will be listed on the site for reference during the week. Cecilia Stalin will be in store at 3pm signing copies of her Story of Love EP RSD 12″. I hope to see as many of you as possible on the day.
