New releases
It’s the best week for releases so far this year with great new albums from Phil Perry, Charlie Wilson and Marion Meadows. There is an amazing acoustic 7 track EP/album from Ledisi which really allows us to appreciate the beauty of her great voice.A new name to us Jay Nemor from Sweden has a really nice album in the style of and reminds us of Gil Scott Heron. Funkadelic release their first album in 33 years and George Clinton doesn’t do things by half’s it’s a 3CD set featuring Bootsy, Fred Wesley, Bernie Worrell etc and even Sly Stone.
Reissues
There are some good reissues as well with a lovely unknown Gospel soul album from Supreme Jubilees recorded in California in 1980 and the third volume of Sam Dees unissued material being the picks. The Two great 45’s from the Athens of the North label Straight Jacket Band and Beginning of the End are superb and very limited so don’t sleep on these.

Vinyl bargains

Pre-orders
We are taking pre-orders for Maryanne Ito and Carlos Garnett ‘New Love’ will arrive next week now and we are delighted to announce that our next release on Soul Brother Records label will be Idris Muhammad ‘Turn this Mutha out’ (first time on CD) just going into production and due early to mid Feb.
