New Releases
There are a lot of releases this week, and some strong albums.
Thundercat is ‘Drunk’ and the CD has arrived today, the Vinyl will be on 14th March.
Charlie Wilson is ‘In it to win it’ and Phil Perry ‘Breathless’ both strong albums. Jose James new album is the appropriately titled ‘In a time of madness’ in a more Soul/R&B mode than his previous albums. Rick Braun has a great smooth jazz album ‘Around the Horn’. and there is an interesting Southern Soul/Blues album from Izo Fitzroy.
This Love is real is a great compilation of lesser known Chicago harmony soul tracks from 1968-81. Roy Roberts Experience features all his in demand tracks and more, good Blues Funky Soul. There are Cd reissues from The Tymes, Eddie Kendricks, DJ Rogers and Roy C and more.

New Vinyl
There are plenty of Vinyl issues this week with Joey Negro’s Soul of Disco Vol 1 , a couple of great Hank Mobley’s and others.There are some good single with the rare Hard Drivers 45 on AOTN, a great Trojan reggae 7″ box set and two new 12″ from Henry Wu (of Yussef Kamaal) and Tatham Mensah Lord and Ranks.
Pre-orders
There are some great titles just up for pre-order arriving in the next couple of weeks including Three on the Soul Brother label. Don’t miss the massively in demand Maureen Bailey and Bobby Sheen 45’s and a vinyl reissue of the classic Idris Muhammad ‘Turn this Mutha out. There is also a great new 45 coming on Soul Junction.

Original Vinyl
This list of Original Vinyl 45’s contains some in demand titles and classics at reasonable prices.
We recently purchased a great collection of original (and early reissue) Jazz Lp’s all in fantastic condition.

R.I.P Leon Ware
It is great sadness that we learnt this morning that the great Leon Ware sadly passed away yesterday. Leon was one of the great songwriters of our music and had a very distinctive sensual approach to his music.His Musical Massage album is a classic and one of the best of its genre. We had the pleasure of hosting an in store with Leon about 15 years ago. He was a very charming man and will sadly missed. Malcolm will write a tribute for next week.
Georgie B
Congratulations to Georgie B for winning the Soul Survivors Soul album of the year award last week with Groove Association’s ‘Soul Family Affair’ album. Georgie came to the store last Saturday to show us the award you can see the pictures here. Natasha Watts won Soul artist of the year and Solar radio Radio station of the year.
Congratulations to Lalah Hathaway for winning a Grammy for Lalah Hathaway Live’., and to William bell for ‘This is where I live’ . Also congrats to Terrace Marin and Louie Vega for being nominated for Grammys.
