Nat Birchall has established himself as one of the leading UK Jazzmen and ‘Creation’ is another strong spiritual jazz album. King supported Stevie Wonder in Hyde Park their album has been one of the most popular New Soul albums so far this year and it is now released on Double Vinyl. Branford Marsalis has a nice album featuring the voice of Kurt Elling, Euge Groove have a good smooth jazz album ft Rahsaan Patterson. Joyce’s daughter Clara Moreno remakes a classic Bossa Nova album in her style and there is a superb album of recent tracks influenced by Ethiopean Jazz and Funk ‘Behind Addis vol 2. The superb Shola Adisa Farrar ‘Lost myself’ album is back in stock on Cd and Vinyl.
Reissues and comps
Soul Junction have another strong compilation of harmony group Soul ‘We got a sweet thing going on Vol 2’, there an amazing value 4cd set of Brazilian music. The amazingly good first two Earth Wind and Fire albums recorded for Warner Brothers in the early 70’s are reissued on 180gm Vinyl albums, classic Funk and Soul. Annette Peacock made a great folky jazz and funk album in 1972, ‘I’m the one’ it is a limited edition given a deluxe packaging remastered reissue. Betty Davis first two albums are now back in stock on Cd and LP.
New and back in stock 45s
There are some good 45’s this week with Billy Woods and The Decisions a great double sider, New Holidays, Brand New and Stephen Colebrooke on Athens of the North., and a picture cover issue of Bobby Hebb’s classic Sunny to celebrate it being 50 years since release. Also check ther great Brazilian double sider from Airto and Gilberto Gil. The Hiram and Direct, Samuel Jonathan Johnson and Ray Barretto 45s are back in stock.

Pre-order for next week a great retro 80’s boogie album from Kyle Auldist and for early August Wood Brass and Steel very rare Hard & Heavy LP on 180gm vinyl on Soul Brother.
