New releases
It’s a great week for releases. Sean Khan has made a fantastic New Jazz album ‘Muriel’ featuring Omar, Heidi Vogel, Sabrina Malheiros and of course his superb Sax playing ,another great jazz album in 2015. Terisa Griffin, Brooklyn Funk Essentials, Nia Simmons and Funmilayo Ngozi have good soul albums.
Reissues
Gloria Ann Taylor has a good collection of rarities and unissued sides on Luv N Haight on CD and Double LP which is likely to sell out fast. There are good reissues from Tavares, Sylvers , Pharoah Sanders and Ronnie Cuber plus a 3CD complete masters of John Coltrane’s seminal ‘A Love Supreme’ which includes an unissued live session.
The amazing Koute Jazz is now in on Double LP, this is a great Jazz compilation. Express your soul is a superb Northern Soul comp and House of Ages selected by Jeremy Newall has some good underground 90’s house and garage tunes. If music have a superb journey into Deep Jazz Double LP ‘You Need This’ (not on CD).
Vinyl
There are a lot of classic Blue Note titles reissued on 180gm vinyl this week. Also some great 45’s including a new title by The Sensationelles ft Gina Foster which is exclusively available from us, and another superb unissued James Reece double A side. The Motown early EP’s 7x 7″ Box set is now in and there is a limited edition Lee Scratch Perry box set. Good 12″‘s from Nicole Willis and Tatham Mensah Lord and Ranks.
