Sensational debut album from Atlanta's singer songwriter and pianist whose gospel trained soulful voice is incredible. This album produced by Indie Arie collaborator Dana Johnson epitomizes the best in soul 2010.  The stand outs are 'All In my Head' a really good mid tempo foot taper with a strong keyboard backing, and 'I Got Sunshine' a lively dancer with a strong Motown influence. 'Need You Now' is a nice ballad, the mid tempo 'Blessin Me' has a memorable hook and 'Like This' is a beautiful melodic jazzy soul track.  With new artists like Avery emerging, soul's future for the new decade is assured.

Really nice consistent gospel tinged organic soul album with some deep grooves and keyboard touches topped by Dominique’s sweet soulful voice. ‘Keep On Keeping On’ is a good mid tempo organic soul mid tempo dancer. ‘Burden Down’ has a deep bass line with layered vocals. ‘Riding On A Cloud’ is a mid tempo floater, whilst ‘Mainline’, ‘Searching’, ‘I Never Knew Love Like This’ and ‘A Feeling In My Soul’ are slightly faster groovers . Strong album that reminds me in places of the Kendra Ross album from a couple of years ago.

Joyo has a voice that could be compared to Teena Marie’s in places, particularly her style of singing.  ‘Certain Special Way’ is a quality upper mid tempo with a good beat. The dancers ‘Take you Home’ and ‘With Feeling’ work well, the mid tempo ‘Ticket To Love’ and ballad ‘You Got Me In The Mood’ are also strong.

Great late 60's/early 70's style soul album. Eli has a gritty soulful voice in a Lee Fields style.
'Young Girl' is a brassy mid tempo dancer with good vocals. 'Name Calling', 'Come And Get It', 'I Found out' and 'Tell Me What I Wanna Hear' are more up tempo. 'Pick A Number', 'Time Will tell' and 'Pick Your Battles' are beat ballads with good horns. Good songs with real melodies and hook lines, strong album throughout.

Superior retro 70's/80's sounding album from France. The appropriately titled 'Boogie' is a string laden dancer with a compulsive beat. The bass propelled 'Keep on Giving it Up' has a mid 70's feel, 'Now' a semi funky groove has a strong Curtis influence. 'We Stand At The Back of The Bus' has a JB's style funky groove. Noel McKoy adds his soulful vocals to 'No One Gonna Stop Us Now' an 80's inspired Brit jazz funk dancer. The outstanding track though is a jazz funk version of 'You've Got To Have Freedom' with a good vibes solo
