JEFF LORBER – NOW IS THE TIME CD £16.95
Jeff Lorber is one of the very few Jazz Funk and Smooth Jazz who has successfully straddled both eras.  ‘Now is The Time’ is proof of that in itself with tracks like ‘Black Ice’, Chinese Medicinal Herbs’, ‘Water Sign’ and ‘Sumatra’ having that Fusion feel and would not have been out of place on Lorber’s early 80’s albums for Arista.  ‘Dr Moy’ is totally funky and there are two vocal tracks ‘Sugar Free’ and ‘Curtains/ Before We Go’.

GERALD ALBRIGHT – PUSHING THE ENVELOPE CD £16.95
Excellent return from one of Smooth Jazz's finest saxmen, the tribute to JB 'What Would James Do' is at the funkier end of the music's spectrum with guest trombonist sounding uncannily like Fred Wesley. On the Latin tip, try another tribute in 'Bobo's Groove' and 'I Found The Klugh' which features Earl Klugh on acoustic guitar. The mellow and very smooth 'Road To Peace' is dedicated to the Haiti earthquake victims. 'Highway 70' ups the tempo and returns to the funky side of things. This consistent and solid set will appeal to the very man Albright fans.
