This Brilliant 1977 album is one of Gil's best, highlighting his sharp lyrics, great vocals and the fantastic band at their peak. 'Hello Sunday Hello Road' and 'Racetrack In France' are great uptempo groovers. 'Song Of The Wind' , 'Vildgolia' , 'We Almost Lost Detroit , 'Delta Man' and '95 South' are more mid or down tempo but are totally captivating. This is music and lyrics that you can really feel and relate to giving food fro thought and showcasing what an important artist Gil was to our music. Essential album that should be regarded as one of the all time greats.

This 1978 album contuse the path set by 'Bridges'. The anti-drug song' Angel Dust' , 'Madison Avenue' , 'Show Biznizz' 'Angola LA' and the super funky '3rd World Revolution' are uptempo grooves propelled by the synth bass and with great lyrics. The more melodic and poignant 'Cane' and '3 Miles Down' and the more optimistic 'Better Days Ahead' are also great songs. Again it is the lyrics that really make this album standout . Another essential album that you can revisit time and time again.

Barbara's great sophisticated soul 1973 album was again produced in Philly. It includes her brilliant answer song to Billy Paul's classic 'Me And Mr Jones' , 9 mins of classic Philly soul. The extended 8 minute version of 'Bed And Board' transforms a good ballad into a masterpiece. 'Who'd ever think', 'Caught In The Middle' and the bonus track 'Child Of Tomorrow' are great orchestrated ballads. 'World War 3' is 10 minutes of string laden funky Philly social commentary magic. Great album that still sounds very fresh from an under appreciated singer.

Classic 1972 album produced at Sigma Sound and arranged by Vince Montana , with all the Philly greats.
Includes the incredible 9 min version of her classic 'Yes I'm Ready' an outstanding ballad (also incl is the shorter 7” version). 'Give Me Your Love' is a great string laden version of the Curtis Mayfield's rare groove classic. Curtis also wrote 'You Can Be With The One You Don't Love' another string laden mid tempo ballad. 'Out Of This World' is a modern soul mid tempo , whilst 'Bed And Board' , 'Let Me In Your Life' , 'Who Will Hurt You Next' and 'Everything I Own' are all god ballads. Classic early 70's Philly soul.

The standouts though are the 2 steppers 'Let Me Go Love' 'Help Us To Stand'. The ballads 'You Make Me love You' and 'All The Way' are also good on this interesting album.

Highlights are his brilliant ballads tak on 'Ain't That Loving You' , the beat ballad 'Missing You' and the slower 'Since You Don't' Want Me' and 'To The Other Man'. 'If Loving You Is Wrong' is an all time classic and Luther's hit version (no 1 r&b) is the definitive version of this great song. 'Always' , 'Dying and Crying' , 'I'm Trying To Sing A Message To You' , 'Help Me Love' and 'Love Aint Gonna Run Away' are also excellent ballads.
