ROY AYERS YOU SEND ME CD £11.95 Original Vinyl LP £15
On CD at last Roy's brilliant soulful album from 1978 that introduced Carla Vaughn's incredible voice to us. 'You Send Me' is a fantastic mellow version of the Sam Cooke classic with great strings showing Carla's incredible vocal range. 'I Wanna Touch You Baby' is another jazzy soul mid tempo duet with Roy and Carla intertwining. The uplifting 'Can't You See me' an all time classic jazz funk dancer has pulsating rhythm with Roy singing and playing the Vibes. 'Get On Up Get On Down' is another great jazz funker whilst 'Everytime I See You' and 'And Don't You Say No' are mellow steppers. Great album that appeals to soul folk and jazz funkers.

EDDIE RUSS SEE THE LIGHT/TAKE A LOOK AT YOURSELF CD £12.95
2 FOR £25
These two great jazz funk albums from Keyboardist Eddie are on CD for the first time. 'Zaius' is a magical track that has retained it popularity and one of the genre's best ever track. The uptempo cover of EWF 'See The light' really kicks and 'Poko Nose' is another funk groove oriented track, whilst 'Stop It now' is a disco dancer. 'Take A Look At Yourself' is a powerhouse j/f dancer fr Jackie Holiday , who also does a great job of 'Don't Ask My Neighbours'. 'I Heard That' is a rare groove monster cover of Quincy's track, and 'Tea Leaves' and 'I Want To Be Somebody' are also j/f dancers. Great to have them available again
also available 'See The Light' Original Vinyl LP £35, 'Take A Look At Yourself' Original LP £30.

LIGHT OF THE WORLD ROUND TRIP (PLUS BONUS) CD £6.95
5 for £25
Light Of The World's classic 1981 album on CD for the first time. The album was recorded in LA with Side Effect's Augie
Johnson at the helm the sound is more like a West coast US band than UK, it is an acknowledged Jazz Funk Classic and quite probably the best album ever recorded by a UK Funk band. 'Time' is an urgent uptempo JF dancer with a great driving bassline and horns, the delightful 'London Town' an all time classic a mid tempo stepper that has a Mizell feel to it on which the trumpet sounds like Donald Byrd and great Vibes as well. 'I'm So Happy' and 'I Walk The Streets Alone' are dreamy downtempo tracks. 'The soulful uptempo 'More Of Myself' has great vocals from Miki Howard, whilst 'Visualize Yourself' and 'Pete's Crusade' are great instrumental jazz funk groover's, and 'Something For Nothing'is another good uptempo number. This album still sounds fresh and is augmented by tracks from the recent Beggar & Co live at the Jazz Café inc a great version of 'Bahia De Palma'. Fantastic.

SOUL ECSTASY CD £12.95
Ralph Tee indulges with some of his favourite tracks from the late 70's and early 80's putting many of them on CD for the first time and making a really good compilation. Highlights are Patti Labelle's breezy modern dancer 'Alright With Me', Gayle Adams string laden 'Let's Go All The Way' , Damaris version of 'What About My Love' and Breakwater's 'Say You Love Me Girl' are the most instantly recognisable. Ronnie McNeir's good rare dancer 'Good Side Of Your Love' , Ronnie Dyson's 'I Want To Be Where You Are', Beau Williams 'If Youre ready' and Champaign 'Can You Find The Time' are also good dancers. For the two steppers Isley Brothers 'Here We Go Again' , Major Harris 'How Do You take your Love will appeal. Great comp.

WEE YOU CAN FLY MY AREOPLANE CD £14.95
Reissue of an extremely rare soul album recorded in Columbus Ohio in 1976/7, with extra tracks. .Considering it obscurity it is an incredibly sophisticated well produced and recorded album that has shades of Stevie all over it, which are especially evident on the melodic mid tempo title track, 'I'm All Changed' and 'We Could Get it Together'. The outstanding track is 'Try Me' presented in both the original modern soul dancer 45 and the more melodic album versions. 'I Luv You' is another dancer and the mid tempo 'Leavin You Alone' and ballads 'Alone', 'Find Me Love Me' and 'I Want To Show You' are good ballads.
A real Find.

DENISE LASALLE A LITTLE BIT NAUGHTY ABC/MCA YEARS DBL CD £13.95
This excellent 24 track comp is drawn from her 6 albums she recorded for ABC and MCA from 1976 to 1981, after she left Westbound. Denise always excelled on the ballads and 'Sit Down And Hurt Awhile', 'Love Me Right', 'One Life To Live', 'Feet Don't Fail Me', 'You Ought'a Thank Me', 'Too little In Common To Be Lovers', 'You'll Never Get My man' and 'Fool Me Good' (similar rhythm to sexual healing) won't disappoint.
